What to Do in Front Cameras

Have you been feeling nervous every time you think about taking pictures on your wedding day? Well, you’re not alone. Many couples here in Ontario feel the same way. After all, we are not all professional models with experience.

You don’t want to have your wedding photos and video captured with you feeling that way. Why, you ask? It will show! You can always tell when the person in front the camera is uncomfortable. They come across as stiff in the photos, and the images aren’t too fantastic.

There are lots of articles that talk about the right way to pose for your pictures. We don’t think that is the solution, and that’s why we made this post. You have enough to worry about when it comes to your wedding, without adding crammed poses on top. So here are six ways to seize the moment and feel relaxed in front of the camera on your wedding day.

1) Know Your Photographer and Videographer

To get the best images and videos from your wedding, you need to be relaxed around who is capturing them. It’s our job to put you at ease as much as possible, but this is also a two-way thing. Work with people like us, who do our best to become your friends rather than just a service provider.

2) Have an Engagement Session

An engagement session is like a prep for your wedding day. It’ll basically just be you, your partner, your photographer and your videographer doing the same thing on your wedding day. The only difference will be more expensive clothing. Besides, you can also use the images from your engagement session for things like your save-the-dates.

3) Decide on What Poses You Want and How Long You Want to Spend on Them

The engagement session we mentioned above will help you know what poses work for you. Decide on which you’ll be using on that day. Setting the time you’ll spend taking pictures could also help. You’ll feel relaxed knowing that you’ll be done with the poses soon and can go back to being yourself with your guests.

4) Listen to Your Photographer and Videographer

You don’t have to do all the work when it comes to your wedding. As your photographers and videographers, we have a system in place that will ensure your images and videos come out great. We’ll also do our best to make sure you’re relaxed. When we feel you need some cues, we’ll offer them. All you’ll have to do is listen.

5) Pretend the Camera Isn’t There

The best images are candid, but you already know that. Candid imagery takes an informal approach without the subject’s knowledge. Pretending the camera isn’t there will make your images seem more natural. Keep moving, and don’t be scared to be silly with your partner. It makes for great footage.

6) Have Fun

This is the most important of all the tips. On your wedding day, nothing should feel like a chore. Whenever you’re in doubt, kiss it out! When you’re having fun, your images and videos will automatically be more outstanding.
