A Story of Destiny | Second Floor Events

  Valerie and Josh's love story began in Toronto in 2017 when they coincidentally met during their interviews for Sick Kids Hospital. As they engaged in conversation, they discovered shared experiences of attending Western University and Medical School in Ireland. This common ground lay the foundation for a connection that blossomed over the years, leading to their eventual marriage.

   At the time both aspiring pediatricians, Valerie and Josh navigated the challenging process of applying for residency. This involved submitting applications to numerous programs, with a computer algorithm ultimately determining where they would spend 3-6 years of their lives. Remarkably, they both successfully matched to the same program, a serendipitous twist that felt like destiny bringing their paths together.

Valerie and Josh's wedding day was a seamless blend of beauty and joy, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Their day began with an endearing first look, a moment of pure connection and joy shared between the bride and groom. Through the streets of Toronto, we had the privilege of capturing the essence of their love.

Choosing to celebrate their union through a Jewish ceremony known as the Bedeken, Valerie and Josh incorporated rich traditions into their special day. Witnesses to the couple’s heartfelt commitment to one another came from diverse backgrounds, as family members traveled from as far as China and England.

​As the day unfolded, the couple transitioned seamlessly into the wedding reception, kicking it off with Hora dancing as the grand entrance which was nothing short of exciting. The ambiance was elevated by a live band, setting a vibrant and energetic tone through the night. Surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, Valerie and Josh danced the night away. The celebration of their union was marked with love, laughter, and shared moments, the beginning of their journey as a married couple surrounded by the support and well wishes of their closest companions.
